Fasting is a challenging
experience, but it can also be richly rewarding.
There are numerous
accounts of fasting for various reasons in the Old Testament
including but not limited to, seeking revelation (Daniel), outnumbered
by the enemy in battle (Jehoshaphat), favor with the King (Esther),
humility (David), and repentance (Ahab).
The fast written about here is the "bridegroom fast" spoken
of by Jesus, the believer's bridegroom.
