Scripture clearly identifies Paul’s thorn as a messenger of Satan sent to torment him. Paul, himself said, “And because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me – to keep me from exalting myself.” (II Corinthians 12:7 nasv)

Some of us have not resisted Satan in the thorns he attempts to put on us because we have thought it was God’s will for us.  We have been given the armor of God to resist Satan in his attempts to afflict us.
