Protection For Christians
“Blessed be the Lord, my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle – My loving kindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge. Who subdues my people under me.” Psalm 144: 1-3 MKJ
Psalm 144 is a very powerful word for believers in Christ. First we are assured the Lord is our rock. A rock indicates a strong support under us. We can count on that foundation in the storms of life. Then we are assured of His loving kindness as He oversees our lives. He is our fortress. I picture this as protection all around us. He is our deliverer. We often need deliverance from the ravages of our enemy, Satan. I love to think of the high tower and picture it at the top of a tall ladder where we can run and take refuge when the trials of life are too great. The shield is closer to us physically than the fortress. I think of the fortress as around my house where as the shield is around me personally. This is a comforting passage to mediate on and keep in our “spiritual tool box.”

A Prayer For Easter/Passover Season
Lord Jesus we come to you with hearts full of love and the faith confession found in Rev. 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death.” We thank you that the blood of the Lamb of God provided the eternal defeat of satan. He is under our feet.
We rejoice that our sins are blotted out once we confess them and we can silence the attempts of satan, the prince of darkness, as he tries to intimidate us. We declare that his accusing voice of condemnation and guilt is swallowed up in the triumph of Calvary. We declare and proclaim our faith in the accomplished work of the cross and we position ourselves to constantly participate in Jesus’ ultimate victory as we overcome satan by the power of the cross and our confession of faith in Christ’s victory.
We thank you that the blood of the Lamb answers all the accusations and threats of the evil one. We hid behind that blood covering.
We thank you that the veil separating us from God the Father has been ripped. We thank you that we can come boldly to the throne with our requests and petitions.
Thank you that you are our peace and that we can roll every concern and care over onto you and draw on that peace.
We are grateful that according to Col. 1:13 you have delivered us from the power of darkness and into the kingdom of the Son you love. We pray to be fully motivated and equipped to walk in this provision and to pick up the anointing that is there.
In faith we declare the power of the blood of Jesus will come to bear on every weakness, physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
We hid ourselves in Christ and declare that we do over come by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Father, give us fresh inspiration and help us to walk in the full benefits of the blood sacrifice. By faith we claim a mighty powerful covering over ourselves and ask to be refreshed and restored in the power of that blood.
In the mighty strong name of Jesus. Amen
